What is Hell

is the jw teaching on hell correct or is there a real hell fire?

has anyone done some research on this.

this is one bible topic i just can't get my head around.

Prison - you end up there after when accused (eg "Who told you that you were naked ?")

Religions like jwism are the hell - accused are not pardoned - they're continuously paying their dues and kept there by the guards, appointed by the judge that the Accuser seeks out - their desire (that burns) is the end, but it doesn't come, as they are lied to about when the pardon is due (soon, just around the corner)

As you go with your accuser before the magistrate, make an effort to settle with him on the way, lest he drag you to the judge, and the judge hand you over to the officer, and the officer put you in prison.

Talk on Apostates

have you ever walked on the beach and tried following another persons footprints; matching your own steps with them as exactly as possible?

by calling ourselves christians, we have indicated our desire to do just that, to follow closely in the footsteps of christ.

have you ever noticed though that on a crowded beach, , there were several sets of footprints, many of them may look alike.

If you have your reasoning book please turn with me to page 34 and read with me the definition of apostasy. Definition: Apostasy is abandoning or deserting the worship and service of God, actually a rebellion against Jehovah God.

That's the watchtower publishing co. definition - it's not the traditionally accepted language use

Some apostates profess to know and serve God but reject teachings or requirements set out in his Word. Others claim to believe the Bible but reject Jehovah’s organization.

Clearly this definition then refers to a rejection of the American relgious group that publishes the watchtower pulications.

Now I exhort YOU, brothers, to keep your eye on those who cause divisions and occasions for stumbling contrary to the teaching that YOU have learned, and avoid them.

To people other than jws, this description applies to and identifies jws as apostate.

The New World Translation is a Mess

the new world translation (nwt) contains thousands of serious errors.

the following regarding john 1:1, one of the most noteworthy verses to jehovah's witness and ex-jehovah's witnesses alike, provides a case example of how and why the nwt cannot be trusted.

there some few scholars that translate the word was "a god" or "a god" or "divine" but they are in the very low percentages.. in greek john 1:1 says: "en arche en ho logos, kai ho logos en pros ton theon, kai theos en ho logos.

I've read many biblical versions, but even listening to a few phrases from the nwt makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck and think "something is wrong"

can someone explain just exactly what that does mean.

i was never able to get a straight answer from anyone--it was just some sort of horrible thing a person might do that would never, ever be forgiven.

i asked point blank once if it was apostasy and was told no.

A forgiveness refused - a way of being - preferring an alternate way or "word" to that which you know to plainly be true

It is said the pharisees committed the sin - likely because they saw it with their very eyes, collectively, and refused it as true

Whosoever "speaks a word" - it's not like f@$k or something - a word is like your "husband", head of your house - you ("though I was their husband" says the Lord) - your word is your way of communicating, with yourself even, controlling how you act and think

If a husband dies one is free from that law

Man seems to be out of the process - but there is ground and seed; and trees that bear fruit according to their kind; heavenly illumination for signs; and various beasts ("go tell that fox")

Man is later created as an image of God. "...if any one is in Christ, he is a new creation..."

He saw the light was good, but the light and dark are not mentioned collectively as being seen as good, whereas the dry land and gathered Seas were seen as a good thing. It could be said that the deep was made with the earth - would you think that the "water under the heavens" came from man ?, as opposed to the water above the heavens ("whosoever drinks the water which I give") - it seems unlikely - but perhaps this is water altered by man - salted water.

What I don't understand is what he wants to discuss about ?

I wanted to discuss ideas that we envisage as things, but that are in reality nothing.

The word is sharp..............here's an excerpt as Augustine noted, near two thousand years back in another language

""All things were made by Him, and without Him was nothing made," so as not to imagine that "nothing" is something. i think there might be a mass revolt.

imagine a mob of 100,000 angry dubs in newyork smashing down wt 25 using telephone posts as battering rams.

then the looting and the destruction of every wt property in newyork and elsewhere.

What will you do when Armageddon would comes and you find out you have been fighting against Jehovah?

I don't think anyone here is fighting against Jehovah - they are exposing the watchtower society

The WT god isn't the God spoken of in the bible, and even the name Jehovah is an invention

For Lurkers: Is the cover of the March 15th Watchtower deceptive?

the cover of this issue pictures a group of modern day people standing looking up as if looking to the sky and the title says something like "christ comming what does it mean to you?

" i think it's deceptive because witnesses teach that jesus already came in 1914. the article is talking about his comming to exucute the wicked and does not even mention 1914, but the photo and title on the cover would lead people to beleive that his comming is still in the future.

isn't this deceptive?
